The Hines came to UBC from Wisconsin where Pastor Dave served as the Dean of Students at Northland Baptist Bible College for six years. Prior to Northland, Pastor Dave was the Assistant Pastor and Minister of Youth at Colonial Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia for almost ten years. From 1980-1989, he traveled for the Wilds Christian Camp as the Field Representative.

Pastor Dave’s formal training includes the following:

• Purdue University - attended 1971 - 1972
• Bob Jones University - B.S. degree in Physical Education, ‘76
• Bob Jones University - M.A. degree in Pastoral Studies, ‘80
• Central Baptist Theological Seminary, Virgnia Beach, VA - M.A.B.S. (Biblical Studies), ‘01

He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Sacred Ministry degree as part of the graduate studies program at Northland Baptist Bible College.

Dan Smetana grew up Chardon, OH, a small town near Cleveland. He was saved as a freshman in high school and felt the call to preach in full-time ministry shortly after his salvation.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible (counseling minor) from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity degree at BJU.

Dan oversees the music ministry and the youth ministry.
